Design
Reproduction of a wall painting of the goddess Maat found in the tomb of Queen Nefertari in the Valley of the Queens dating to the 19th Dynasty. The goddess wears an ostrich feather on her head, which could be used alone as the symbol for her name, and is often shown with protective wings. The ancient Egyptians believed Maat personified justice, truth and order, and was the counterbalance to isfet, or chaos.
